Chicago is a home to 77 neighborhoods and more than 200 individual communities. While the city is an important cultural and economic center, looming challenges exist, such as an unequal distribution of resources, access to economic and social opportunities, racial inequality, and lack of social mobility. The city’s disparities are often seen along geographic, racial, and socioeconomic lines in public safety, economic opportunity, educational attainment, and healthcare.
