Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated^® Alpha Beta Delta Omega Chapter Scholarship fund is proud to announce that applications are now open for our annual FLIP-THE-SCRIPT Scholarship.

This scholarship supports African American, Hispanic, and First Nations students who live or attend high school on the West and/or Northwest Sides of Chicago.

We are committed to changing the narrative of scholarship awards by recognizing diverse pathways to success. FLIP-THE-SCRIPT Awards may be used to support a variety of post-secondary educational plans, including:

• Colleges and universities
  
• Trade and vocational schools
  
• Masterclasses/workshops

Eligibility Requirements

Please review the eligibility criteria and required materials below before submitting your application.

• Be a high school senior, 2-year or 4-year college student, or trade/vocational student.
• Minimum GPA of 2.0
  
• Provide proof of acceptance to a college, university, or trade/vocational program
  
• Submit a copy of their most recent transcript (unofficial transcripts are accepted)
  
• Provide proof of residency or school attendance on the West/Northwest Side of Chicago
  (Examples: State ID, Driver’s License, or School ID)
  
• Submit one letter of recommendation
  
• Complete a one-page essay response
• Applicants must reside in or attend school within one of the following zip codes: 60612, 60622, 60624, 60644, 60618, 60625, 60630, 60639, 60641, 60647, 60651, 60623, 60707, 60634, 60614, 60642, 60610, 60623.

Note: Funds awarded through the Flip-The-Script Scholarship Program are intended to support students in their academic journey and may be used toward books, educational supplies, and required course equipment.

Please note that selected scholarship recipients will be required to complete and submit the appropriate tax documentation prior to the disbursement of funds. Scholarship winners will be invited to a scholarship ceremony.
